Not to be confused with Himalayan salt, Prague Curing Salt #1 is a mixture of sodium chloride (table salt) and sodium nitrite used to inhibit bacterial growth and preserve meat flavor and appearance. We’ve given it a fresh new look, trading the old pink for a warm yellow hue by removing artificial dyes and using annatto extract. Same cure, new hue!
Also known as Prague Powder #1, it’s used to cure meats that require cooking and are enjoyed sooner rather than later, such as ham, sausage, jerky, fish, and bacon. One bag contains enough curing salt to process hundreds of pounds of meat.
Anthony’s Premium Prague Curing Salt #1 is Gluten Free, Non-GMO, made in the USA, and contains no artificial colors, because we like to keep things on the up and cure.
Caution: Prague Curing Salt #1 contains sodium nitrite and is toxic if misused. Use only as directed and measure precisely according to a tested recipe. Overuse may be harmful. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Label and store clearly to avoid accidental ingestion. Do not use as a substitute for table salt or sprinkle directly on food. For curing purposes only.
