Anthony’s Ground Sumac is made from fresh sumac berries that are dried and crushed into a coarse crimson-red powder. Native to the Middle East, this wild bush now grows all throughout the world, especially East Asia, Africa and North America.
Use it as a rub on kebab, lamb, chicken, fish or vegetables when grilling. Sumac adds a zesty lemon flavor when sprinkled on popcorn, salads, hummus and more! It is one of the main ingredients in the spice blend, za’atar, and is often used in mediterranean cuisine.
Sumac is used as a substitute for lemon, adding a sour burst of flavor to dishes such as fattoush salad, kebab, rice pilaf, and lahmajoun.
Anthony’s Ground Sumac is Gluten Free, Vegan & Keto Friendly, with no added salt.
